Was ist ein Carnet ATA?

Logistics knowledge

A carnet is an international document that facilitates temporary imports of goods into other countries. It is a document often used by companies that make temporary exports of goods for trade shows, exhibitions, film productions, or similar events. When companies temporarily import goods into another country, they usually have to pay import duties and taxes. However, with a carnet, they can import the goods into the destination country duty-free and without paying import taxes, as long as they are re-exported at a later date. The carnet is issued by a chamber of commerce or industry and is valid in over 100 countries. In addition, the goods must be re-exported within a certain time frame to qualify for duty-free importation.
